Scholarships

Clark Rural Water Systems awards two $500 scholarships to any high school senior whose immediate household is a paying member of Clark Rural Water Systems and meets the necessary prerequisites. All qualifying applicants have an equal opportunity to have their name entered into a random drawing which is held during the regular, May Board meeting.

Ginny Wakenthien - Scholarship Winner

Ginny Warkenthien, daughter of Ryan Warkenthien and a graduate of Willow Lake High School, has been accepted into South Dakota State University where she will pursue her dream in Agronomy and Animal Science.

Haydyn McGillivary - Scholarship Winner

Haydyn McGillivary, son of Bret and Gwen McGillivary and a graduate of Watertown High School, has been accepted into South Dakota State University where he will pursue his dream in Agronomy.

Rules and How To Apply

The Clark Rural Water System Board of Directors has chosen to award 2-$500 scholarships to any high school senior whose immediate household is a paying member of Clark Rural Water System. Although a minimum 2.0 GPA and a “personal story” for each applicant is required, all who meet these prerequisites will have an equal opportunity to have their name entered into a random drawing to be held in conjunction with our May 21, 2026 Board Meeting. All applicants and/or their parents are welcome to attend this meeting if desired. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the educational facility at the beginning of the recipient’s second semester.

2. Applicant must attend a South Dakota, post-secondary educational facility. 
3. Enclose a copy of your most recent academic transcript from high school.
4. Enclose a one-page, personal story about yourself.
